Initially, it was a way for both myself (Jeanie) and my best friend Joan to keep ourselves accountable. We have been friends for just over two decades and have seen each other go up and down on the scale, our mood swings and self-esteem alongside it. When one of us was on a diet, the other one was sure to follow. When one of us said “I quit!” and threw in the towel, the other wasn’t far behind.
We got sick of it. Tired of feeling miserable in our own skin and promising each other time and time again that we’d lose weight. In college, we were both pretty slim and athletic, but after having families, kids, being exhausted day in and day out, it got too difficult to be health conscious and being a mom on top of working. The weight piled on faster than ever before. I started feeling weak, OLD even! I’d never had a sore back or sore knees after walking up stairs before, and I’m still in my early 40s, far too young to being feeling so old. I told Joan that something needs to change, that WE need to change our habits or we will be too far gone.
We decided to start this blog so we’d track our diets and weight loss and that turned into us reviewing our favorite weight loss programs since there are so many on the market. Neither of us have time to go to the gym on a daily basis (seriously, who has 3 hours to spend driving to the gym, changing, working out, showering and that’s only IF you get a free machine?) Nope! Maybe 15 years ago, but not now. That’s when we discovered Beachbody weight loss programs. My favorite being the 21 day fix which has literally changed my body. We love trying new programs and both of us have lost over 30 pounds each. I’ve lost almost 45, and have about 10 more until my goal weight. Hope you enjoy our blog and keep coming back for more!
